Request to Change to a Reduced Fare Card

Note: This form is only to convert an existing PRONTO card or app account from Adult to a Reduced Fare category. You may not request a new PRONTO card through this form. Reduced Fare eligibility granted through this online request form will expire July 31, 2023. To retain the reduced fare status, you will need to provide proof of eligibility at the Transit Store before July 31, 2023. If you do not take an action to extend your reduced fare eligibility before July 31, 2023, your card will revert to an adult fare.

As a reminder, reduced fare eligibility includes:

  • Youth (18 & under; children 5 & under ride free)
  • Seniors (Age 65, or born on or before September 1, 1959)
  • Medicare (not Medical) recipients
  • SSI or SSD
  • DMV Placard ID receipt
  • NCTD or other California transit agency reduced fare card

If you do not have the above proof of eligibility, you must apply for SDM qualification online and get a photo ID card through the Transit Store.

Please DO NOT to fill out this request if you have ALREADY purchased an Adult pass on your card. Instead please call 619.595.5636 or go to Transit Store for help converting your card.

I acknowledge that failure to travel with proof of eligibility for a reduced fare is subject to fines and the confiscation of my PRONTO card. (Failure to agree/acknowledge will result in your PRONTO card remaining at an Adult rate)
